“Human Touch” – a cartoon that illustrates how the current wave of generative AI might not be as big a threat to the creator economy as many currently think.
According to the Brainy Insights, the generative AI market will grow from 8 Bn in 2022 and reach $188 Bn by 2032.
Computer World, a leading trade publication, said at the launch of AI chat bots, “generative AI will be a game changer. A lot of jobs will become obsolete once they reach critical mass.”
However, while Chat GPT might threaten repetitive white-collar tasks (e.g. tax preparers, contract drafters, industry research analysts), creators might welcome the news from the US Copyright Office (USCO).
This week the USCO stated that AI-generated images are not protectable under current copyright law, as they “are not the product of human authorship.”
