“Madame la Guillotine” – a cartoon that illustrates the shift in sentiment towards higher corporate and individual tax rates to help pay for the debt built up by the coronavirus relief bill.

“Let’s be honest, the ‘golden goose’ is a bit of a fallacy. Trickle down economics doesn’t work as literally all of the stats relating to wages, the ‘top x % vs the lowest x %’ figures, etc etc all demonstrate. Exacerbated by the covid scenario. Not making a political point but the billionaire venture capitalists are already in a pretty good situation: tax on ‘sweat’ is around 40%, tax on ‘money’ around 20(ish)%, so they’ve already got a huge advantage.”
