“Distracted Astrologer”– a cartoon that illustrates how Mark Zuckerberg’s metaverse is a distraction from Facebook’s real-life hellscape.

According to Facebook’s own research conducted into mental health in 2019, they found that 14% of boys in the US said Instagram made them feel worse about themselves.

32% of teen girls said that when they felt bad about their bodies, Instagram made them feel worse, comparison. “Teens blame Instagram for increases in the rate of anxiety and depression,” said the research.

“This reaction was unprompted and consistent across all groups.”

The original distracted astrologer was Thales of Miletus, a character in Aesop’s Fables, who upon falling into a well was approached by an old woman who said to him in derision “O Thales, how can you have knowledge of heavenly things above, yet not know what is under your feet?”
